Bajra is a traditional Hindi name for the Pennisetum glaucum crop ? also known as pearl millet. Dukn, cumbu, gero, sanio, kambu, babala, and bulrush millet are other names for it.
The grain is grown primarily in Africa and India, where it is an important source of nutrition. It is, however, grown and consumed in many other parts of the world.
The edible seeds of pearl millet plants are referred to as bajra. They come in a variety of colours, including white, yellow, grey, brown, and bluish-purple.
The seeds are usually cooked as a cereal grain, but they can also be finely ground and used as flour.
